Texas Hold'em Poker School
The Fitzwilliam Card Club will run a 4-week Texas Hold’em Tournament Poker School beginning on Wednesday 8th February. Whether you are relatively new to the game or mostly play online and just want to brush up on your live tournament skills, then this poker school is for you.
This 4-week course will offer players a firm grounding in the strategies essential to successful tournament play. Courses will run on Wednesday nights from 8th February starting at 7.30pm. Each class will be 60 minutes duration – this will be followed by entry into the regular Wednesday night tournament where players will get the chance to test their newly-acquired skills.
The cost of the course is €100 and this will include the entry fee into the Wednesday night €20 + €5 Re-buy night tournament for 4 successive Wednesdays in February (8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th), so effectively the Poker School is free. Membership of the Fitzwilliam Card Club is also free and open to all over 18 years of age. New Poker Managment System in the Fitz
From this week we have a brand new poker management system up and running in the Club. Members can now sign up to the waiting list for all cash games via a state of the art touchscreen at the Poker Desk where you are also able to get an instant update on your poker hours for the Cash League.
For poker tournaments, members are now able to sign in automatically when they buy-in at the Poker Desk, re-buys, top-ups & add-ons are now recorded live via new handheld computers and the tournament poker clock has a brand new interface with more useful information available in real time to players.
All of these new features are accessible with the barcode on your membership keyfob and we encourage all poker players to bring in their keyfob when playing in tournaments and cash games. If you have lost your keyfob, just ask a Reception and they will organise a new one for you at no charge.

Club members can now phone 41 different countries around the world for free with our new Club phone service. The calls are unlimited and are available 24 hours a day - to avail of the service, just call into the Club and ask at Reception.
